Men Who Crochet

Yes! There are men who crochet!

Crochet is NOT a gender specific craft although it may seem like only women do it. Lets face it, stereotypes suck. I absolutely love that men are into crochet! And if you don’t think men should crochet, then keep those thoughts to yourself and move on about your day, thank you very much.

The creativity of the crochet community is beautiful no matter who crochets it! It’s a great way to express yourself in a creative way and can be both relaxing and therapeutic. There are groups out there that were created to support men who crochet, and I absolutely love that! There have also been knitting groups in the past that were exclusively for men too!

I don’t care who you are, if you crochet or have a passion for the craft, you are my people!

There are not as many male crocheters compared to females that I have personally come across, so I wanted to highlight some guys I’ve come across who’s social media is mostly crochet that I recommend looking up for inspiration!

Whether you are male, female, or *insert any other identifying label here*, crocheting all comes down to fiber art that requires learning. I tell everyone who starts their crochet journey to practice practice practice! Practice makes progress! (lets remove “perfect” from our mindset because lets face it, it just doesn’t exist!) Trust the process, have fun with it, and let your imagination run wild!

Some of these artists have multiple social media accounts so I just linked to one to get you started in the right direction! I know there are more out there that I haven’t come across yet, so I’ll be keeping this list updated as I come across other male crochet artists.

Did I miss anyone??  Let me know and I’ll add them to the list! (Check back for updates!)

  2. I used to work at an oil refinery, and I knew a guy there who had worked for 28 years—scars, grizzled, the works. He would crochet in the parking lot before heading home every day. No one messed with him, lol.

  3. I love that guys crochet! It’s so refreshing to see someone confidently doing what they love. Honestly, why not.
